• I am so glad you asked! To me, being a Doula is being a Keeper of sacred births. My purpose, as one of your companions in birth, is not to give you all the answers and make all of your choices but to provide you with the tools necessary and tailored to you to ensure you have the ability to navigate your birth story with confidence, acceptance, and peace regardless of the outcomes. To remind you to trust your baby and your body. Your Doula should surround you with a warmth and kindness that is so tender because they truly care. Being a Doula to me is Love.

  • Once the contract has been signed and the agreed upon deposit has been paid, you will receive continuous guidance and support based on your specific needs. Each Doula/client relationship is different but special in its own way as the most important part of my offering is how I make you feel. I agree to provide information and education to you and your chosen support person at each prenatal meeting and through each milestone in your pregnancy, birth, and/or postpartum but to also listen so my care is tailored to your needs. I will be an unbiased resource and provide up to date/evidence-based information and will help you and your chosen support person work through any fears, concerns or self-doubts you may have. I will provide hands-on comfort measures through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum and help you learn how you can be a strong advocate for yourself and your baby. You will receive an extensive list of local resources and I will show you how best to apply them to your journey. With my gentle care and guidance, I hope to set you up to attain clarity, acceptance, and peace not just in your birth story but in life for the following years to come as you navigate the labyrinth of parenthood.

  • While your Midewife can and will provide you with wonderful and very necessary care throughout your birth journey they are still a medical provider and there are limitations to their availability to provide continuous emotional and physical support. Studies show that with continuous support from a Doula, labor and birth involve less interventions and more desirable outcomes as intermittent care can tend to disrupt the natural flow of labor.

  • As your Doula I am part of your birth team. One of my top goals as a Doula is to maintain the sanctity of your birth, meaning, I uphold the belief that birth is a sacred, connecting, and powerful journey for the whole family to go on together. My job is to enhance the role that your partner can play in your birth (not replace them) by guiding and teaching them the emotional and physical tools required to be fully present in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

  • Yes, I do! However, backup support is for emergencies only. I hold a general and simple belief that it is better to be prepared in the highly unlikely event that I am unable to attend your birth. Any Doula that I choose will be thoughtfully selected and you will be offered the opportunity to set up a meet and greet call to ensure you are comfortable with anyone who is a potential part of your birth team.

  • Whether it is debriefing the events of your birth, feeding you (yes feeding you!), assisting with nursing or bottle feeding, holding and tending to baby, tending to older children while you focus on baby, doing light house chores/running errands, assisting with baby carrying, assisting with gentle belly binding, or recommending you to local and qualified specialists for your needs, I am there for you. Human beings are not meant to raise children alone and I believe that to my core. It takes an entire village and a whole lot of love and you deserve that in your postpartum care.

  • At each prenatal meeting you can expect the opportunity to learn valuable information regarding every choice that you have in pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I will provide to you body balancing sessions and guide you through Spinning Babies inspired body work to ensure you are not just mentally prepared but also truly physiologically prepared for labor and birth. I will introduce safe herbs, oils and Ayurvedic inspired practices that best support a holistic maternal year. We will ensure your birth and postpartum plans align with what you are truly desiring for your birth and no one else. I promise to provide a safe space for you to discuss any fears or concerns you have so we may work through them together at this most opportune time. This is the basis of what I offer to each and every family and what practices we use are depended on each family's individual needs. My offering is centered around ensuring that the birthing person is balanced; mind, body and soul.

  • I support any and all births with the exception to free births. That incudes home birth, hospital birth, at a birth center, VBAC, planned/unplanned cesarean, planned/unplanned induction, medicated/unmedicated birth, and holistic births.
